Pair of Small Vintage 1940's Silver Heart Charms “Christmas 1944” & “Betty”

An unusual pair of small vintage 1940's European silver flat heart charms. The first heart is engraved with a pair of birds and “Viel Gluck” on one side and “Betty, Gott Schutze Dich on the other. These translate to Good Luck and God Protect You. The second has “Weihnacht 1944” on one side (translates to Christmas 1944) and “Betti, Gott Schutze Dich” on the other. A very sweet pair.

Each heart measures 12mm (1/2 an inch) by 10mm (3/8ths of an inch) and the whole charm weighs 0.9 grammes. Unmarked but tested as at least 800 grade silver and in very good condition just slightly tarnished.
